Part-Time Nanny Available

Our son will be starting Kindergarten in September and we are looking for someone to share our nanny with us.  We need her from 2:30 to 6:00 pm Monday thru Thurs.  The rest of the week she is free to work with someone else.

She has been with us since our son was 12-weeks old.

She lives in Highland Park and has her own car, bi-lingual english/spanish.  She is a wonderful woman and our son adores her.  They go and do fun stuff everyday.  Over the last 2-years she has also taken our son to pre-school and pre-K.  She helps out around the house and is always flexible.

If you are interested in learning more about her please contact me at eringero@gmail.com.

Thank you

Found Puppy

Today while at the Hermon Dog Park, my partner and I found a lost pitbull puppy. He’s probably about 4-5 months old, brindle brown color, sweet. Other people at the park thought they had seen him in the park the day earlier with a Latino man with a baby. If this is your dog, or if you know who he belongs to, please contact me, so you can be reunited: gretchen.peterson@gmail.com. Thanks!

This is the puppy we found

Help Homeless in Highland Park

Good evening neighbors!

Howdy,

In looking online for people who are active in Highland Park I came across this blog. I was wondering if anyone here would be interested in volunteering to assist and empower the homeless folks living in our community.  I recently started a small nonprofit, Recycled Resources for the Homeless, staffed entirely by volunteers who give their time one Saturday a month to outreach and engage homeless folks in Highland Park, Eagle Rock, Glassell Park, and S Pasadena. I have attached our website if you need more info.

We are in need of more volunteers! We can use volunteers and their talents- whatever those may be. Want to bake cookies for us to distribute? Have someone you want us to outreach to? Want to clean out your closet and get rid of clothes you don’t wear? We’re here!

If you don’t have the time to donate we’ll also take used clothing, blankets, and hygiene products. I work as a psychiatric social worker , serving the homeless in skid row. and  have noticed several people in this area who need some TLC. They may be suffering from mental illness or substance use and could use a smile and some kind acts. Please take a look at our website for upcoming events, how you can be involved, and what we do. We also host educational meetings about the homeless population, mental illness, and substance abuse.

If you have any questions please let me know.

One step at a time, one day at a time, we can change lives.

Thanks!
Rebecca
